People can join:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>As a member of the club (KFO) <strong>and<\/strong> of the Scottish Orienteering Association<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>As a member of the club (KFO) <strong>and<\/strong> the Scottish Orienteering Association <strong>and<\/strong> of British Orienteering<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>The first option is for people who are likely to take part only in Scottish events, or events closer to home. The second option is aimed at people who need the full insurance cover from British Orienteering to serve as club or event officials.  Or they want to compete at major British Championship events UK wide.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are four categories of membership:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Senior<\/strong>: any member aged 21 or older on 31 December of the membership year<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Junior<\/strong>: any member aged 20 or younger on 31 December of the membership year<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Young adult:<\/strong> any member aged between 21 and 25 on 31 December<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Family: <\/strong>two adults and one or more children<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The membership year runs from January to December but anyone joining after 1st November gets the rest of the year free.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Benefits from becoming a member: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Discounted entry fees at all orienteering events under the remit of British Orienteering.
